Vision & Philosophy
Mary MacKillop responded to the needs of her time in ways that respected the human dignity of all.
The Mary MacKillop Foundation is responding to the needs of our time to relieve suffering and bring hope.
The principal object of the Mary MacKillop Foundation Limited is to provide relief with respect to poverty, sickness, suffering, distress, misfortune, destitution and helplessness in accord with the Vision and Mission of the Foundation which shall be in accordance with the spirit, traditions and practices of the Congregation of the Sisters of St Joseph of the Sacred Heart.
The specific objectives of the Foundation are assisting:

people who want to work together creatively for the elimination of suffering, destitution, helplessness and poverty;

community based self help projects that relieve distress caused by poverty, disability, sickness, misfortune or lack of basic resources;

people to overcome destitution, isolation, and the effects of misfortune in order to achieve an increased measure of self reliance and human dignity;

those who cannot help themselves, to retain and observe their customary values, traditions and culture that address their social and spiritual welfare and thereby relieves suffering;

those in serious need in the same spirit as Mary MacKillop.
