About Us
The Mary MacKillop Foundation is dedicated to continuing the legacy of Australia's first saint in fostering the Aussie spirit of helping those in need. Since inception, we have funded over 400 small life-changing projects, responding to the needs of rural and isolated communities, those coming to our country without support, indigenous groups and people with disabilities.
In 2011, we gave priority to Disaster Recovery Projects, assisting those Australians affected by Cyclone Yasi and the Queensland floods. Requests for help are growing rapidly, with grants for 69 projects already approved for 2012. Following in the footsteps of St Mary MacKillop's commitment to the welfare and education of Aboriginal people, for more than a decade the Foundation has funded Scholarships for University and TAFE studies for 40 indigenous tertiary graduates. There are 38 more students enrolled for 2012.
